Both are excellent for CSE. IIT Bombay has a slight edge in placements with higher average and median packages. IIT Bombay's CSE department is ranked #1 in India with ₹42 LPA average for CSE placements. However, IIT Delhi's proximity to the startup ecosystem in Delhi-NCR gives it unique networking advantages. The curriculum at both is world-class. If you have a choice, IIT Bombay's CSE department has historically produced more startup founders and tech leaders.

IIT Delhi has improved dramatically in recent years. The placement stats are almost identical now. IIT Delhi's CSE average has reached ₹38 LPA. Choose based on city preference — Mumbai or Delhi. Both will give you incredible opportunities.
