Madras Medical College, established in 1835, is one of the oldest medical colleges in Asia and is ranked #11 by NIRF. Affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, MMC offers MBBS, MD, MS, DM, and MCh programs. The college is attached to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, one of the largest government hospitals in India with over 2,800 beds. MMC has produced several eminent physicians and surgeons. Admissions to MBBS are through NEET counseling.
